Chris Cuomo Reminds Ted Cruz of Trump Calling His Wife Ugly in Debate

Chris Cuomo had former presidential hopeful Ted Cruz on his CNN show on Wednesday (September 30) night, and the two engaged in a heated conversation after Cruz deflected questions about Donald Trump.

When Cuomo asked Cruz about President Donald Trump refusing to condemn white supremacists and right-wing extremists, Cruz turned the question back around to focus on Joe Biden. Cruz stated, “The press is partisan in this regard. Ten years ago, 2010, Joe Biden gave a eulogy for Robert Byrd who was a Klan cyclops of the KKK.”

Things continued to escalate between Cruz and Cuomo, including the CNN host questioning Cruz about seemingly defending Cruz, who Trump branded “Lyin’ Ted Cruz” during his 2016 presidential run. Cuomo then pointed out that Trump called Cruz’s wife Heidi “ugly” during the debates after Cruz continued to go after Chris and his brother, New York mayor Andrew Cuomo.

Chris told Cruz, “I’m talking about the president. My brother’s not the president. The one who called you a liar, who said your wife was ugly, that guy! The guy now who you won’t say anything about!”
