Gary Owen‘s estranged wife, Kenya Duke, is asking for $44,000 a month in spousal support, according to documents obtained by TMZ. Kenya claims that the amount she’s requesting is what Gary would deposit in her bank account to pay her credit cards and for personal spending.
Kenya says she left her promising career to support Gary’s dreams of becoming a comedian, which is why she believes she deserves to continue to be supported by him. She adds that their monthly income ranged between $200,000 and $400,000 and never fell below $100K, even during the pandemic. Kenya also revealed that Gary often has checks for $300,000 to $600,000 sitting around uncashed from his stand-up shows.
Kenya filed for divorce back in March after nearly 18 years of marriage and 23 years together. Shortly after news broke of their divorce, Kenya alluded to cheating being the reason things fell apart.
Kenya linked Claudia Jordan into the situation by claiming that it was Claudia’s friend that Gary cheated with, which Claudia later denied, stating, “In my 20 years of knowing him, not one of my friends has ever told me or has ever implied that they messed with this man.” Claudia then added, “I have absolutely nothing to do with it. I do not have a friend in Dallas or anywhere else that is this man’s mistress. I don’t know anyone woman that’s his mistress. I don’t know what y’all are talking about.”
