Dwyane Wade Reveals How Jason Terry Humbled Him After 2011 Finals Loss
Dwyane Wade recently chopped it up with Russell Wilson on his “DangerTalk” podcast, and during the conversation, Wade revealed a humbling moment he had with Jason Terry after the Heat lost to the Mavericks in 2011.
Wade explained, “So Dallas beats us and me, I go dark, LeBron [James] goes dark, he grows his hair and everything, he goes real dark. And we had a trip that was planned earlier… So we kept our trip, and that was the first time we’ve seen each other since we lost.”
He added, “So we get to the club and Jason Terry is in the back of the line. And we walk in it like D-Wade, Bron come on come on so we go right in VIP. And Jason Terry and everybody took him another 20 minutes to get in that club.
“[He] walked right up to us and put his hand out and in that moment I did not want to shake that man’s hand at all because they just beat us in the Finals… At that moment I was like damn JT got some over us right now… He came over there like pay respect and we had to give that man his respect. Because of what they accomplished and how they beat us, was special. But what they did is it humbled us.” You can hear the full story up top.
