Bodycam Footage Released of Police Killing Teen Girl in Columbus

Police released bodycam footage of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant being fatally shot by police responding to reports of an attempted stabbing. The incident happened just hours before the guilty verdict was read in the highly-publicized trial of Derek Chauvin.

Columbus interim police chief Michael Woods revealed that a caller claimed that females were trying to stab them and put their hands on them before hanging up the phone. Woods didn’t comment on what led to the officer resorting to shooting the teen, which he said “is a tragic incident for all involved, but especially for the family of the female.”

Woods added, “As I said earlier, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting the criminal investigation into this incident. At the conclusion of that investigation, the divisional police will conduct an administrative review of the actions of this officer and all officers at the scene.”

During a press conference, Woods stated protocol allowed police officers to use deadly force to protect themselves and others. He added that the independent investigators would assess whether the officer’s actions were justified.

Family members identified Bryant as the victim, as did the Franklin County Children’s Services agency, which said she was a foster child.

Bryant’s mother Paula Bryant told local TV reporter Lacey Crisp: “She was a very loving, peaceful little girl. She was 16 years old, she was a honor roll student. Ma’Khia has a motherly nature about her. She promoted peace. And that’s something that I want to always be remembered.”

CNN’s Chris Cuomo Says Police Reform Won’t Happen Until “White People’s Kids Start Getting Killed By Police”

CNN’s Chris Cuomo said that substantial changes to policing in America would come only when “white people’s kids start getting killed.” Cuomo lashed out at white Americans who have resisted calls for police to face accountability, particularly those who have sought to justify the shootings of 13-year-old Adam Toledo in Chicago and others who have died at the hands of police. White people’s kids start getting killed?” “Those start piling up and people will ask, “What is going on with these police?”.

Criminal Lawyer Reacts to Cases for NBA YoungBoy, Lul Tim, NLE Choppa

Criminal Lawyer Bruce Rivers recently sat down to react to cases from various rappers, including NLE Choppa and NBA YoungBoy.

He started out speaking about NBA YoungBoy, and Rivers pointed out that YoungBoy ran from police and was in possession of a firearm as a felon. These things combined with the “armed career criminal statute” warrant a mandatory sentence of 15 years.

Rivers then went on to speak about Lul Tim, who is charged with King Von’s murder. He stated that Lul Tim’s bond was “low,” and he added that he thinks it will be difficult to prove that Lul Tim’s bullet killed Von, given the number of people involved, and Rivers also pointed to a possible self-defense claim.

Brooklyn Center Police Release Body-Cam Footage Of Daunte Wright Shooting Where Officer Used Gun Instead Of Taser During Traffic Stop

The fatal shooting of a black man by a police officer in the US city of Brooklyn Center in Minnesota was an accident, the police chief has said.

Daunte Wright, 20, was shot after the officer meant to use a Taser, but mistakenly drew her gun instead, Chief Tim Gannon told reporters.

The officer was later named as Kim Potter who has worked for Brooklyn Center Police for 26 years.

Mr Wright’s death has sparked protests and a curfew has been declared.

Late on Monday, crowds defied the curfew to gather for a second night outside Brooklyn Center Police headquarters. Witnesses said some threw fireworks and bottles at officers who responded with tear gas and stun grenades.

Lil Snupe’s Father Upset With Meek Mill & Other Artists For Not Buying A Headstone And Monument

Lil Snupe‘s promising career was tragically cut short when he was murdered in 2013 at just 18 years old. Lil Snupe’s father Charlie Brown was incarcerated at the time of his death. Now that he’s a free man, Brown was able to finally visit his son’s grave in the late rapper’s hometown of Winnfield, Louisiana.

On Sunday, he posted a video on his bigsnupe318 Instagram account showing his associates taking him to Snupe’s grave. During the ride, Brown explained that he’s been in prison for 20 years and couldn’t openly grieve while he was doing time. (In an April 4 post, he said “last week this time I was locked up,” indicating a late March release.)
