    Fiona Moriarty-McLaughlin has been found. And to make matter worse, she’s a journalist. Moriarty-McLaughlin used to write for the Washington Examiner.

    According to reports, Fiona has been fired from the Examiner.

    Young Man Drowns Attempting To Swim Across A Pond Over A Bet

    TUNICA COUNTY, Miss. (WMC) – Saturday, Tunica County law enforcement recovered the body of a drowning victim in the pond at the Cypress Lakes Apartment in Robinsonville.

    Dispatch received a 911 call about the male victim around 12:30 p.m. and Tunica County Sheriff Deputies immediately searched the area for him, along with Pafford EMS and North Tunica Fire Department. Desoto County Search and Rescue Team was also notified and assisted in the search.

    The victim was identified as 20-year-old J.W. Ransom II of Lambert, Mississippi.

    His body is being taken to the Mississippi Crime Lab for an autopsy.

    This incident remains under investigation.

    Man Shoots Waffle House Cook After Dispute over Restaurant’s Mask Policy

    According to reports, a Waffle House patron in Aurora, CO was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after shooting a cook the day after being told to wear a mask inside the restaurant.

    The police affidavit states that 27-year-old Kelvin Watson entered the Waffle House he reportedly frequents, this time without a mask, and was told by several employees that they could not take his order if he didn’t wear the mask. One waitress said that Watson left and returned with a mask in-hand but refused to wear it. Instead, Watson pulled out a semi-automatic and placed it on the counter. He proceeded to tell the cook, “I can blow your brains out right now.” The other man Watson was with reportedly told him to calm down and apologized for his behavior before the two left. 

    The following night, Watson returned to the restaurant but was told by the cook that he would not serve him. Things got physical after Watson was refused service when he slapped the cook. Witnesses say the cook fled the restaurant through the backdoor but was met outside by Watson. The two continued their verbal exchange before Watson pulled out his semi-automatic handgun and shot the cook. 

    Watson quickly fled the scene but was arrested by officers of the Aurora Police Department soon after. The cook suffered “serious injuries” to the abdomen but is expected to make a full recovery. 

    Waffle House issued the following statement: 

    “We are deeply saddened and regret that this senseless act of violence occurred, causing injury to a member of our Waffle House family early Friday morning, […] We have learned that the hospital released our injured associate on Friday afternoon to recover from what has been described as a non-life- threatening injury. Our thoughts are with him, his family and coworkers at this difficult time. We ask that anyone who has any information about this incident to contact the local authorities as soon as possible. We are cooperating fully with the investigation, and direct all additional questions regarding the specifics of this incident to the local authorities handling the case.”

    A family in Virginia had the great fortune of stumbling upon nearly a million dollars in cash sitting in the middle of the road. The Schantz family hit the two stuffed bags while out on Saturday afternoon. They suspected they were someone’s trash bags left in the middle of the road and decided to throw them in their pickup truck to properly dispose of them later. 

    But when the family looked inside the bag after getting home, they found cold-hard cash. “Inside of the bag, there were plastic baggies and they were addressed with something that said ‘cash vault,’” said Emily Schantz. They quickly called the local deputies and alerted them of their discovery.
