A video recently surfaced of a man who local authorities have identified as Antwon M. Brown approaching the Greg Fischer, Major of Louisville, punching him right in the face. The 30-year-old was later arrested and charged with one count of fourth-degree assault, which is a misdemeanor in the state of Kentucky that carries a fine of $500.00 and up to one year in jail if found guilty. According to reports, police were able to identify him with the help of video evidence that depicted him walking into his apartment, with the same clothes on during the incident involving the mayor.
Brown’s arraignment was held on Wednesday morning at Jefferson County District Court, where pleaded not guilty to the aforementioned charges before his bond was set at $25,000. In the aftermath, the Judge ruled that Brown is no longer allowed to come in close contact with Mayor Fischer or the place of the assault, Fourth Street Live. Mayor Fischer did not suffer any major injuries from the punch and returned to work shortly after being attacked.
