Benzino Goes Off On the Rock & Roll HOF for Eminem’s Induction, Lists Deserving Rappers

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recently revealed their inductees for the class of 2022. Amongst the entire list of award-winning recording artists, producers, and executives, only one rapper was selected this year, Eminem.

Although the Detroit-based emcee has overcome his fair share of racial barriers during the developmental stage of his career, many of his skeptics have been quick to point out the advantages that his skin color has afforded him in the mainstream. Thus, when the major announcement came down the pipeline on Wednesday, his old rival Benzino, couldn’t resist the urge to dredge up deep-rooted race-based resentment towards Eminem. Benzino called into question how deserving he was of such a prestigious honor when there are still so many rappers of color who have yet to have been inducted. The 56-year-old aired out his grievances by indicating that Em’s nomination was largely based on the color of his skin before mentioning a litany of rappers who exceed his old nemesis in terms of seniority in the rap game.

“Rock and roll hall of fame is just like the Grammy’s,” he wrote on Twitter. “They have no respect for our culture, Black or Hip Hop and if you don’t agree, you’re racist, period point blank.”

Benzino continued, “So where’s Nas, Eric B and RAKIM, Kool Moe D, Epmd, Fearless Four, Fat Boyz, Lauren Hill, Little Kim, OutKast and 100s other Black rappers?? GTFOH.”

Feds Arrest 42 Dugg for Failing to Surrender & Serve a 6-Month Prison Sentence

Detroit rapper 42 Dugg is facing more legal issues as the music artist was recently arrested for failure to surrender himself to the authorities and serve a six-month prison sentence. The arrest reportedly stems from a criminal case during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

42 Dugg was arrested in Detroit as his flight landed from Memphis. The recent arrest is the latest addition to a string of legal issues that have plagued the rapper in recent years. 42 Dugg was arrested in March 2020 on federal gun charges for possessing a gun as a felon. Later that year, he was apprehended in August 2020 for evading police officers two months prior.

42 Dugg was supposed to surrender and report to a West Virginia prison on April 12th but never did. The rapper is reportedly facing up to five years in prison for this latest infraction.

Man Arrested for Weed Vending Machine at Home, Made $2,000 Per Day for 4 Years

A drug dealer from Detroit named Marcellus Cornwell has been receiving high praise over the course of the past few days for the innovative way in which he presented his product to the public. Instead of selling drugs on the corner or through various trafficking schemes, he simply created a vending machine and attached it to the side of his house.

But, this wasn’t just any vending machine. The vending machine featured a navigation system complete with a touch screen, anime characters, a voice command option, and a slew of drugs for its paying customers. The machine even accepted credit card payments along with Apple Pay.

According to reports, the 46-year-old drug dealer raked in nearly $2,000 per day with his vending machine for nearly four years until the popularity of his business model landed him on the radar of the ATF (The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms). Cornell also profited off of selling firearms out of his home to the locals. Once the government finally caught wind of Cornwell’s activity, they arrested him, but not before tipping their hat to their captor for his out-of-the-box approach to business.

“Entrepreneurial at best,” said a representative from the ATF. “Unfortunately both things were illegal…[If] you do this stuff inside a neighborhood, people are going to take notice and they’re going to get mad.”

During their raid of Cornwell’s residence, ATF agents recovered 18 firearms, several rounds of ammunition, and a plethora of suspected marijuana. Cornwell has since been released on bond.
