China to Ban ‘Sissy Idols’ and Effeminate Men From Its Entertainment Industry

China’s media regulator called for the boycott of “sissy” boybands and effeminate men on television as the country continues to crack down on its entertainment industry.

On Thursday, China’s National Radio and Television Administration shared an eight-point plan to reform its entertainment industry. The regulation plan calls for the boycott of reality talent shows, “illegal or immoral personnel,” “daunting wealth, gossip or vulgar internet celebrities,” and “sissy idols.”

The “sissy idols” phrase is a direct reference to popular boy bands like TFBoys, Uniq, Super Junior-M, and Exo-M. The groups have long been targeted for not adhering to traditional masculine trends by wearing makeup and placing an emphasis on high fashion.

The regulation plan also calls for an end to entertainers receiving large payments, believing entertainers should not use their fame for profit. Entertainers are also urged to take part in charity shows. China’s entire entertainment industry is also encouraged to provide “professional and moral training.”

The rules come as the Community Party calls for a “national rejuvenation” in its attempt to gain a tighter hold on business, education, culture, and religion. The plan also follows recent scandals in which popular Chinese celebrities have been banned, deleted from the internet, and legally prosecuted such as Kris Wu, who was accused of raping an underage girl.

China to Ban 'Sissy Idols' and Effeminate Men From Its Entertainment Industry

Look below to view the National Radio and Television Administration’s eight-point plan:

    1. Boycott illegal or immoral personnel. When selecting entertainers and guests, radio, television, and internet platforms should not employ people who have an incorrect political stance, break laws and regulations, or speak or behave against public order and morals.

    2. Boycott “traffic only” standards. Idol selection shows cannot be shown, as well as shows starring the children of celebrities. Shows should strictly control voting, cannot induce and encourage fans to shop or buy membership in order to vote for their idols.

    3. Boycott an overly entertaining trend, promote traditional culture, establish a correct beauty standard, boycott “sissy idols”, boycotting daunting wealth, gossip, or vulgar internet celebrities.

    4. Boycott high pay in the entertainment industry. Strictly regulate payment for guests, encourage celebrities to participate in charity shows, punish fake contracts and tax evasion.

    5. Regulate showbiz staff. Enforce licensing television hosts, provide professional and moral training. Entertainers should not use their profession and fame to gain profit.

    6. Promote professional commentary in the entertainment industry, insist on correct political direction and values, criticize the fake, ugly and evil values.

    7. Entertainment associations should provide more training and establish mechanisms for industry regulation, as well as criticize bad examples.

    8. Regulators need to be more accountable, listen to the people and respond to their concerns, fill public space with positive and mainstream shows.

A man armed with a gun is accused of holding a baby as he fired at three women during a road-rage shooting in Ohio, police say.

The bizarre scene unfolded after two women crashed their vehicles in Cincinnati on Wednesday. A 54-year-old woman said she and another driver were involved in the minor collision that didn’t cause any damage and “words were exchanged” afterward, according to police.

“I’m gonna go get my man,” the 54-year-old recalled the other woman telling her, police said. “You better go get yours.”

About half an hour later, 31-year-old Ladon Penn arrived and walked into a home before reappearing with gun, police said.

Penn is accused of shooting at the 54-year-old and two women with her. A bullet ricocheted and grazed the 54-year-old’s forearm, police said.

She was treated for the minor gunshot wound at the scene.

Officers arrested Penn and found a 9mm handgun shortly after he left the scene of the shooting with the other woman, police said.

Penn was charged with felonious assault, child endangering and having weapons while under disability.

Kodak Black Threatened By Housing Authority For Donating AC Units to Projects

The housing authority in Pompano Beach sent a cease and desist to Kodak Black over the charitable contribution to his old neighborhood. In July, the Florida rapper donated a reported 100 air conditioning units to the elderly and underprivileged at a housing project.

In its letter, the housing authority claimed Kodak Black’s donation was a disruption to residents. Kodak was also accused of showing up to the housing project twice and causing disturbances by shooting a music video and playing loud music.

“Your actions have adversely impacted the Property’s residents’ right to peacefully enjoy the property,” the letter read.

Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, shamed the Pompano Beach Authority for wishing “to stop the assistance to the elderly and underprivileged during a heatwave and two-year pandemic.” He also rejected the letter’s claim that his client was shooting a music video and playing loud music.

Barber Robbed for Nearly $30K in Stolen Items While Shaving a Customer

Surveillance footage captured a Bronx barber getting robbed for nearly $30,000 in stolen items last Thursday.

In the video, the suspect walks into the barbershop with a small, black bag and immediately approaches the 27-year-old barber from behind while taking out his pistol. Customers at the shop seem to remain calm as the robbery suspect holds the bag as the barber starts placing items into it.

When the suspect started exiting the barbershop, the barber attempted to grab the bag before the thief turned around the threatened to use his weapon. The suspect reportedly stole four gold chains, a Rolex watch, a ring, a gold bracelet, two cellphones, and $700 in cash. The stolen items were valued at $28,500.

The police have not apprehended the suspect but hope the above video will help identify and capture the male. The NYPD has described the robber as being between 30 to 35 years old and 6 feet tall.
