Freddie Gibbs made a visit to Funk Flex’s show for a new freestyle.
At the 4:05 mark of the clip, Gibbs spits bars over Amerie’s “Why Don’t We Fall In Love”, in which he addresses Covid-19, the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and also checked the likes of DJ Akademiks, Benny the Butcher and R. Kelly. “F**k R. Kelly, bi**h I’m the new king of R&B,” he raps.

The Brooklyn rapper has now kicked off the promo run as he made a return to Funkmaster Flex’s show on Hot 97. On the show, he rides with smooth bars over Mobb Deep’s 1995 classic “Give Up The Goods (Just Step)”.

While on Hot 97 on May 22, 2021, DJ Funkmaster Flex decided to take a jab at Power 105.1 radio personality Charlamagne tha God by bringing up rape allegations from 20 years ago. On his show, he played an audio clip of a woman saying that Charlamagne, born Lenard Larry Mckelvey, raped her then 15-year-old daughter Jessica Reid in 2001 and that he was “getting away with it.”
“If he was going to be a friend to us he came to us and said don’t worry nothing is going to happen to her and I’ll make sure she’ll be safe,” the distraught mother of Reid said in a 2018 interview on The Star Report. “He alluded us to believe and trust in him and then he turns around and violates my daughter by raping and drugging her and then…he gets away with it.”
Reid also explained why she didn’t allow her daughter to testify in the trial against Charlamagne.
“When I made the decision for her not to testify I was focused on her wellbeing and I didn’t want to put her on the stand to relive that pain and suffering.”
She added that she felt that the South Carolina native “continues to make mockery about it” and “joke and laugh about it like it doesn’t even matter to him.” She also accused him of “covering up” the allegations with his “high class attorneys.”
Flex added his two cents, saying he didn’t believe that Charlamagne was innocent.
In 2018, Charlamagne was cleared of all charges after his DNA was found not to be a match after he voluntarily submitted blood and semen samples, Bossip reported.
Flex unearthing this audio came unexpected. The two radio vets are not friendly, but this attack seemed unprovoked. This comes days after Wendy Williams‘ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, threatening to share some “scary truths” about Charlamagne.

Funkmaster Flex has found some new fuel in his unusual and one-sided feud with Jay-Z thanks to an even more unusual source: Donald Trump’s 11th-hour spate of high-profile pardons just before leaving office earlier this year. Included in those pardons was Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, who was arrested in 1994 for conspiracy with intent to distribute narcotics. She cooperated with the US Attorney and was sentenced to five years of probation. Perez was appointed CEO of Roc Nation in 2019 after serving as COO and working with the company for nearly a decade.

T.I.‘s Crime Stoppers video haunts him like it’s Michael Myers and he’s a relative. Funkmaster Flex decided to make Tip relive this horror once again when he brought back the clip on Monday.
In an Instagram post, Flex decided to be the latest entertainer to use Tip’s infamous Crime Stoppers video to insist the rapper is a snitch.
Flex’s attack against T.I. started after it was announced that Tip would be going head-to-head against Jeezy in a Verzuz battle. Prior to this, T.I. was hoping to take on someone from New York City, leading him to call out Busta Rhymes. Although Tip will take on the Snowman, his taunting of New York didn’t sit well with Flex.
DJ Spade and Night Owl Sound were spinning tunes as they hosted an Instagram Live session last night but unlike the actual club, there’s no telling who’ll be joining forces. Drake and Rihanna were among the guests in the Live session.
That’s when Funk Flex entered. Though the interaction was kept to a minimum, they made sure to get whatever they had to say off of their chest.

In a visit to New York, Yo Gotti showed up at Hot 97 to spits some bars on Funk Flex and he had to do it over JAY Z‘s classic “Takeover” instrumental.
Nicki Minaj stops by Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97 to promote her new album “Queen.” Nicki discusses her ex-boyfriend Safaree’s attempt to discredit her pen game by claiming he penned her lyrics.
Safaree didn’t take kindly to the comments. Taking to Twitter, he denied that he claimed to write her rhymes and didn’t steal her credit card. He also accused her of “messing with meek a few years b4 y’all got together.”
