According to Atlanta police, two 15-year-olds have been detained in the shooting of a security guard who was held at gunpoint at Lenox Square Mall on Sunday night.
The mall had just closed at 8:30 p.m. Sunday when the two youths attempted to enter near the Apple Store entrance.
Witnesses told FOX 5 that the gunmen were dressed in masks, with one brandishing a gun and the other shouting for people to raise their hands.
Soon after, the guard, described as a man in his early 40s, was shot in the torso, according to officials.
Hundreds of cops swarmed on the scene in seconds to look for the fleeing culprits.
APD Deputy Chief Timothy Peek said, âWe were able to render aid from the security guard and get information from the witnesses, which ultimately led us to the direction and location where the suspects fled to.â
Police conducted a grid search that took them to the neighboring Westin Hotel, where they arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl.
Both juveniles have been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, tampering with evidence, firearm ownership by a person under the age of 18, and firearm possession during the commission of a felony. At this moment, their identities have not been revealed.
According to officials, the security guard was rushed to a neighboring hospital and is listed in critical condition.

A popular Instagram influencer took police on a high speed chase across Southern California, after he claimed to have caught his girlfriend cheating with a “Black” man.
The influencer, who goes by the name s2k_wya, has more than 100,000 followers across social media platforms – and is well known in the car racing community.
Yesterday s2K went live, and posted a video of himself in the midst of a high speed chase with police. In the video, the IG influencer cries, says goodbye to his family, and gives his last will and testament.
Eventually police moved in and shot himself in the head. Here’s video:
Why was he being chased by police? Well the back story is pretty disturbing.
San Diego police responded to s2k’s home and claim that they found a woman who told officers s2k has hit her in the head with an ax, strangled her, tied her up, and sexually assaulted her over a two-day period.
During that time, police said the woman claimed he was going to buy a gun and would kill her if police were called. When he left the apartment, the woman escaped and alerted neighbors who then called SDPD, police added.
SDPD said officers discovered the woman has sustained two broken ribs, swelling to her face, and had bruises all over her body.

Two armored truck security guards in South Africa avoided a potentially deadly heist after dash cam footage captured the men dodging gunfire in a high-speed chase.
The video clip showed the cash-in-transit vehicle taking multiple shots as the suspects tried stopping and robbing the armored truck. Leo Prinsloo, the driver in the video, is seen reacting calmly as the truck’s windows are struck by bullets and he attempts to lose the hijackers by weaving through traffic.
While driving, Prinsloo instructs his partner to take out his rifle as he proceeds to evade the robbers. After a while, the gunshots discontinue and the security guards successfully dodge the heist. After losing the robbers, Prinsloo stops the truck and exits the vehicle with his rifle before the clip ends.

Guy Lets Off Shots In The Middle Of South Beach
There was a shooting in South Beach 3:19 a.m. this morning at Collins and 9th Street. The shooter remains at large.
According to Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez, a man was shot in the leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center by a friend.
Rodriguez said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
“Detectives are piecing together what transpired before the shooting incident,” Rodriguez said in an email. “The roadway has since been reopened.”
